Ken’s Food

Location: Massachusetts, USA
Pinnacle executed the 3D Modeling of the existing and newly proposed part of the corporate office of the Ken’s Food – a commercial project in Marlborough, Massachusetts, USA, covering an area of 110,000 sq. ft. The building, constructed in 1958 had to undergo renovation of 3 floors above the ground. The frame of the building was made up of structural steel and there was also an underground bio-gas line. Our Coordinated BIM model helped in visualizing the complete project and enabled better construction management. This saved time and money on site and all clashes were resolved before the beginning of construction. We used Revit – MEP – 2014 for the 3D modeling, clash coordination and producing detailed shop drawings.

Value Added

  • It was a challenge to complete the modeling and the entire equipment detailing within a limited time frame.
  • We had to use all sizes of fittings for accessories and piping insulation as required for preparing the 3D model and shop drawings.
  • In order to enable the field engineer to understand properly, we provided a 3D isometric view of the riser drawings and piping systems through 2D shop drawings.
  • Another big challenge was the lack of space to route the whole plumbing system. The piping of the entire first floor had to be shifted to the ground floor during clash coordination. Pinnacle looked for the client’s approval for this concern.
