This project involves the architectural modeling and visualization of a mosque. The scope includes developing a detailed 3D model of the existing mosque structure, followed by the design and the integration of a proposed extension phase. Both phases will be modeled in Autodesk Revit, with high-quality renderings produced to visualize the completed design.

Significant Aspects of the Project

  • • Conversion of Inputs into Revit Model
  • • Renovation
  • • Design Conceptual set, DD Set, and Building Permit Set

Scope of Work

Our scope of work for the project included the following:

1. 3D BIM Model Creation

A. Architectural Modeling

Creation of a comprehensive architectural BIM model, including but not limited to:

  • • Exterior and interior walls
  • • Doors and windows
  • • Railings and parapets
  • • Wall skirting
  • • Vertical circulation elements (stairs and ramps)
  • • Ceilings and soffits
  • • Louvers and vents
  • • Toilet partitions
  • • Floor slabs
  • • Columns
  • • Curtain walls and mullions
  • • Roof, roof soffit, fascia, and gutters
  • • Fixtures and storefront elements
B. Model Development

The architectural 3D model was developed based on the received input information and progressed to a level suitable for preparing the required Construction Documentation (CD) set.

2. Preparation of Shop Drawings / 2D Drawings

Preparation of detailed shop drawings and associated 2D drawings derived from the BIM model, aligned with project standards and coordination requirements.

3. Preparation of Drawing Sets

Preparation of the following drawing sets:

  • • Design Development (DD) Drawings
  • • Permit Set Drawings

The construction drawings were developed based on available samples of similar projects, maintaining consistency in annotation, dimensioning, and drafting standards followed for the project.

Challenges & Solutions:

Discrepancies in Client-Provided AutoCAD Inputs

Challenge: Inconsistencies between plans and elevations in the AutoCAD files received from the client caused delays in directly executing the work in Revit.

Solution: Conducted detailed cross-checks and clarifications before modeling, ensuring corrected and aligned inputs were used for accurate Revit model development.

Lack of Established Revit Standards

Challenge: Absence of standardized Revit practices from the client side led to multiple family revisions and repeated family creation..

Solution: Refined and standardized Revit families during the modeling process, helping establish consistent Revit standards to support smoother execution and future scalability.

Pinnacle's Value Addition:

Establishing Revit Standards and Future-Ready Models

Enhances project outcomes by refining AutoCAD inputs during conversion to Revit and standardizing Revit families, helping establish consistent modeling standards that support efficient execution and scalability in future projects.

Proactive Design Review and Risk Mitigation

Contributes to project success by identifying conceptual design gaps or inconsistencies early and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to resolve them, minimizing rework, reducing risk, and improving overall design quality.
