Pinnacle’s team received a design contract for Sheet Metal and Mechanical Piping & Plumbing for the UK Medical Center project and was asked to offer MEP BIM Services and to develop 2D drawings to be used for coordination review with other services.
The UK Medical Center Lexington KY was a conventionally designed structure, doing renovation of which was a challenging task.
As it was a renovation job for a conventional building structure, it became challenging to identify the exact connection points for new services against the existing work and consequently figure out and model the points at a certain elevation.
Point coordination and space management for the UK Medical Center Lexington project was done, going with a hyper-integrated BIM implementation process. We considered a fly zone for our services and tried to leave space margins as much as possible for other services and used a ‘point cloud’ for existing points of connection and coordination. In some places, we re-sized the ducts and demolished existing elements as per the site condition.
The team at Pinnacle worked on appointing spatial coherence by producing process-critical 2D/3D drawings following all the architectural standards and conventions best responding to the project requirements. Our expert MEP BIM Modeling Services precisely laid the restructuring plan for the building which led to the successful completion of the overhauling project.
