Delgado School of Nursing

The Delgado School of Nursing is Pinnacle Infotech’s one of the notable mechanical fabrication projects. Located at 615 City Park Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119, it is a five-story building with a rooftop level. Ochsner Health and Delgado Community College partnered on this project to establish the Ochsner Center for Nursing and Allied Health at Delgado Community College, aiming to train the next generation of healthcare professionals. Pinnacle was entrusted to primarily work on MEP design services and allow the college building to have a coordinated and smooth implementation of mechanical fabrication elements and functional component

Scope of Work:

  • Mechanical ducting 3D model, Co-ordination
  • Shop drawing/2D Drawing
  • Floor Penetration Drawings

Challenges & Solutions:

Challenge 1:

The client requested for value optimization to be taken into account throughout the project's execution, which added to the project's complexities and raised the risk of production delays and process interruptions.

Solution 1:

We submitted RFIs and held weekly review meetings with the client, ensuring their input was considered before addressing any coordination matters, such as duct rerouting. Additionally, we developed fabrication scripts and collaborated with the client to fulfill the sheet metal CAM requirements through our expert MEP services.

Challenge 2:

The L02 and L03 corridors had limited ceiling space, resulting in insufficient room for accommodating all the MEP components within the same corridor.

Solution 2:

As a seasoned provider of BIM for mechanical engineers, Pinnacle worked on most complying 3d modeling services options for the project and prepared the framework drawings to overcome fabrication challenges and executed MEP BIM services diligently and time-critically.

Challenge 3:

Managing floor openings was one of the operational challenges.

Solution 3:

Our team working on the project provided expert mechanical BIM services and worked on the floor opening plans during the model development and looked after their management throughout the coordination process to eliminate operational challenges.

Pinnacle’s Value Addition:

  • The document underwent multiple modifications and edits to accommodate the client's preferences and requirements. Our team worked tirelessly to incorporate the changes into the model for review and validation.
  • Pinnacle utilized Trimble Fill Point Software in the development of the Trimble files for floor penetrations.
  • With the assistance of the client's rerouting sketches, Pinnacle transformed the design model into a fully coordinated model.
