Edwards Vacuum Phase 2

The Project “Edwards Vacuum Phase II” is a Commercial Building at 6225 NE Century Blvd., Hillsboro, OR 97123. The building has two floors with roof. The total area of the project is approx. 35,000 sq. ft. The Edwards Vacuum Hillsboro project required the concrete drawings and models to be created for a 35,000 sq. ft. area using Revit 2021 software.

Scope of Work:

Concrete 3D Model: Our BIM modeling services delivered concrete 3D models of footings, retaining wall/structural wall, concrete tilt panels (20), slab-on-grade, concrete curbs, thickened slab, metal deck, and embeds.

Concrete 2D Drawings: With our expertise in BIM for Concrete Contractors we created precise foundation drawings, slab-on-grade drawings, sawcut drawings, panel elevation drawings, metal deck drawings, and section and details.

Challenges & Solutions:

Challenges:

There were no embed submittals when the planning was done so a lot had to be assumed. Also, there was a risk of manpower crisis and assumption on the estimate as well. The input drawings were like DD set and a drastic mismatch was found between structural and architectural drawing sets.

Solutions:

We initiated approximately 30 Request for Information (RFI) submissions addressing discrepancies in the drawings, a crucial step that enabled our client to pinpoint and rectify all necessary areas. Leveraging the expertise of trade professionals, we meticulously scrutinized the embedded drawings, guaranteeing a seamless project delivery within the designated time frame, effectively surmounting every obstacle encountered along the way.
