Lake Lanier Olympic Park Boathouse Reconstruction is a Boathouse at 2206 Oday Rd, Pearland, TX 77581, USA. This is a non-profit organization that serves as a catalyst and unifies community efforts related to participation in the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and other events that had a significant impact on the community before, during, and after the 1996 Games.
The scope included 3D models of Architecture, Structure, Plumbing, Mechanical & Electrical with 2D shop drawings of HVAC using Revit software.
The client’s primary requirement was for us to create a basic 3D model (ACS & MEP) extending up to specified grid lines provided by them. The main emphasis was on the mechanical room. As the project was in the design and procurement phase, the client wanted us to incorporate their design mark-ups into the model. This would enable us to assess its validity and feasibility, providing valuable insights for duct re-sizing, new routing, FCU relocation, and determining the necessary ceiling height.

Pinnacle's scope of work is as below which was limited between the Grids (A to E & 5 to 10) for all trades as marked in the "Marked Up PDFs" shared by the CDA.
The older design documents had some missing inputs and also wrongly depicted ceiling space.
We raised the queries and RFIs suggesting some best-fitting solutions. In that way, we could get the revised ceiling heights, new route suggestions, and relocation of some of the AHUs. Hence, we could accommodate everything and complete the project on time.
The major challenge we faced was the larger duct stacks coming out of the mechanical room and spreading all around the building areas. It was also creating huge constraints for other trades to run around.
We brought up the issue and proposed some alternate routing suggestions to the client. The client reviewed and asked their Engineers to check for the design validation. Those ducts were considered for the re-routing and some of the AHUs were suggested to be shifted out of the mechanical rooms so that the duct run could be altered. We updated the model referring to the multiple Word & PDF documents provided by the client to showcase optimum design alterations and subsequently get their approvals.
Visually depicted the issue in the marked NWDs & PDFs, so that designers could understand the issues and alter their designs accurately.
Value engineering to reduce the long routing and fitting requirements.
